Introduction
Previously, mental health was considered a taboo subject. However, of late, more and more people are becoming comfortable in discussing their mental health. There is still an unfortunate stigma surrounding these discussions, and change is well overdue. This Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health in Children and Young People online course can help change this narrative. Unfortunately, mental health issues affect everyone, regardless of age or experience. This course has been designed to enable you to provide support and further understand how you can be of assistance to those in need.
This level 2 qualification will help you understand what is meant by mental health and how these can affect children and young people. Following this you will then explore the common factors that are known to affect mental health and the impact they have. Once you have established a primary understanding of how these issues may arise, you will then look at the impact they have on external factors. For example, how it can affect their studies, their physical health and their relationships and social well-being. Finally, you will learn how you can support them, and the additional support they can receive from external agencies.

The Studying Process
At the College of Contract Management, we aim to offer affordable and accessible education to all. Therefore, we offer our professional and academic qualifications online. Firstly, upon submission of your application, our course administration team will set to work on creating your student profile. Once your application has been processed, you will be enrolled onto the course. Following enrolment, you will be provided access to your student log in for our student portal, Moodle. Within your account you will have access to all your course resources including access to your live lectures and student communications. In addition to your live lectures, you will also have access to recordings of your previous lectures, should you need to rewatch them.
After multiple investigations, we found the main stigma around online learning was the lack to social interaction. We believe that online learning courses don’t need to be isolating or anti-social. With that in mind, we have implemented both a messaging service on our portal but also promote open discussion and questions throughout our lectures. Through the use of interactive screenshare software our lecturers are able to instigate discussions and promote an interactive and open learning environment.
The Assessment Process
The final stage of study is our online assessments. We ask you to complete and submit an assessment at the end of each module. All assessments should be completed and submitted online, through your student profile. The primary objective of these assessments is proving all you have learnt throughout the modules. After completing all modules and successfully passing each assessment you will be awarded with your certificate of qualification.
