Advanced Diploma in Structural Engineering

The College of Contract Management’s Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Structural Engineering programme commences with a new intake on 17th February 2024.

The programme is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators which includes the Institute of Highway Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, the Institution of Civil Engineering and the Institution of Structural Engineers.

Year 1:

• Fundamentals of Engineering Drawings
• Construction and Civil Engineering Technology
• Structural Fundamentals
• Soils and Foundations
• Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics
• Engineering Mathematics and Modelling

Year 2:

• Structural Analysis
• Design and Computing
• Structural Design of Concrete
• Structural Design of Steel
• Advanced Structural Design
• Structural Engineering Design Project

In addition to its tailored content, the course will give you 240 credits under the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).

Course Duration:

On average, this course consists of 12 modules and takes 2 years to complete. You will complete your Advanced Certificate in Year 1. Then, you will complete your Advanced Diploma in Year 2. However, it is possible to complete the course faster.

Advanced Diploma in Structural Engineering Course Delivery: 

Delivered via live online video call, each lecture is also recorded and uploaded to to the College Moodle portal. Given that each lecture is delivered in a classroom style environment, topics are open for discussion. Additionally, the student portal allows you to interact with fellow learners, providing networking opportunities. Finally, all lectures are hosted outside of standard working hours, meaning you don’t need to change your current routine.
